Metro's factory authorized and trained technicians provide professional service on all major ophthalmic manufacturers.  What does this mean to you?  This means that they are trained by the manufacturer to work on your piece of equipment and as an authorized dealer, we use original parts right from the manufacturer.  No after market parts are used.  Given enough information, our technicians can sometimes repair the problem right on-site, with little inconvenience to your patient flow.

EXAM LANE MAINTENANCE AND PRACTICE RELOCATION

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

To prevent breakdowns of your exam equipment, we suggest a yearly maintenance.  This maintenance includes:

​

  • Clean and level slit lamp

  • Check calibration of Goldmann tonometer

  • Clean and check calibration of projectors

  • Clean and check calibration of Manual Keratometers

  • Clean BIO's and check alignment

  • Clean Hand-helds and check wells to make sure handles are charging

  • Check locks on instrument stands and chairs and make any necessary adjustments

 

PRACTICE RELOCATION AND NEW OFFICE BUILD OUTS

  • Moving?....Don't trust regular movers or friends and family.  Your equipment needs to be broken down and packed properly, transported properly then re-installed properly.

  • New office?....Send us your CAD drawings.  We will make suggestions on placement of equipment and electrical outlets at no charge to you.

PHOROPTOR/REFRACTOR CLEANINGS AND OVERHAUL

​

Your phoroptor/refractor is probably one of the most important pieces of equipment in your office.  Reichert has a limited lifetime warranty on all of it's phoroptors.  Reichert recommends cleaning your phoroptor every 2 - 3 years by an authorized distributor.  When a warranty issue comes up, Reichert will verify that that you have been having the phoroptor maintained and cleaned by an authorized distributor.  If not, the warrany will be void.  Proper maintenance will prevent major breakdowns. When we get your unit in our technicians:

  • Inspect all dial assemblies and controls prior to disassembling

  • Disassemble the unit and clean out all  the old grease and re-grease and lubricate the gears

  • Clean and grease the PD mechanism

  • Adjust all the sphere and cylinder detents and tensions

  • Check JCC all cylinder lenses to make sure they are all on axis

  • After all the maintenance we will clean all sphere and cylinder lenses one by one

  • Re-assemble your unit and re-check all sphere and cylinder dials for smooth operation
